Overview

Smile Brands, a Glassdoor Top 25 Best Place to Work, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team! This position will be working for a national Dental Service Organization (DSO) in a part EDI/part manual environment auditing and processing payables for multi-location dental practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle AP: Review, code and enter payables using multi-location account string structure
  • Support for suppliers, multiple dental locations and company employees
  • Invoice auditing: Ensure accuracy and scrutinize detail for coding and approval of various payment types including patient refunds, utilities, check requests, product and service invoices, capital expenditures
  • Schedule Payments: Prioritize payables according to terms and due dates
  • Communication: Correspond with field teams and operation managers on a daily basis
  • Research: Reconcile billing issues and obtain detailed documents
  • Analysis: Read and interpret documents thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practices
  • Deadlines: Accomplish AP responsibilities, including month-end close, by meeting daily and weekly goals per department schedule
  • Policies and Procedures: Understand and comply with stated guidelines and processes

Responsibilities


Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an automated AP department; knowledge of the dental or medical field is a plus

• Must have intermediate knowledge of General Ledger

• High school diploma, college courses in accounting preferred; College degree in related field

• Accounts Payable experience in a business support environment with a mid to large, multi-location company

• Proficient with accounting software such as Oracle, web-based imaging programs; knowledge of EDI processes; intermediate data entry skills, including Excel and Word; 10-key by touch

• Strong problem solving ability; accounting principles knowledge; research, data analysis, organizational and multi-tasking skills

• Exposure to various accounts payable systems and chart of accounts with complex structures

• Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and with a team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timing

• Willing to work occasional overtime
