Overview

Smile Brands, a three-time Glassdoor Best Place to Work, is seeking a Director of Compensation to join our team! Under minimal supervision, the Director of Compensation carries the responsibility for leading incentive plan design, administration and project management for strategic business area. This role supports the development, implementation and administration of compensation policies and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain compensation design and structures by participating in salary surveys and other benchmarking data sources
• Oversees the development of compensation strategies, policies and processes
• Provide directional compensation philosophy leadership for the team and support decision-making by providing compensation alternatives and/or recommendations
• Strong experience in support of incentive plan modeling, annual budgeting for compensation programs, accruals, and integration
• Lead the annual compensation process for assigned clients, including salary, and annual incentive
• Experience in workforce analytic products, supporting business needs for reoccurring report development and administration
• Provide compensation analytics through:
o Running reports to identify future trends and risk
o Determining benchmark jobs in salary surveys
o Calculating cost and effectiveness of compensation and compensation related programs
o Modeling various compensation scenarios
o Develop reports for compensation-related analytics and dash-boarding
• Collaborate with internal teams i.e. IT, Finance, and HR teams to identity system and process improvements, deliver business requirements
• Monitor, track and report on legislation, regulations and media articles pertaining to compensation
• Provide data and information to HRBPs regarding compensation-related data sources and analyses to address compensation related issues or concerns.
• Create and document compensation policies, procedures, and administration guidelines to ensure compliance and governance over compensation administration and design.
• Design compensation-related training material to educate HRBPs, managers and employees on compensation philosophy and administration practices, including cyclical activities such as merit increase and bonus cycles.

Responsibilities

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration or combination of education in a related discipline and equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, including experience in a lead role
• Ability to consult on pay, bonus and FLSA.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations relating to broad based employee pay, compensation laws, including federal and state regulations
• Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Applications, most importantly Excel (power queries, pivot tables and Vlookups)
• Strong background in systems reporting (Ultipro, BI, and PayScale)
• Strong experience in support of incentive plan modeling, annual budgeting for compensation programs, accruals, and integration
• Experience in workforce analytic products, supporting business needs for reoccurring report development and administration.
• Collaborate with internal teams i.e. IT, Finance, and HR teams to identity system and process improvements, deliver business requirements
