Bill McCarthy joined Smile Brands Inc. in 2002 as Director of Real Estate. Today he serves as Senior Vice President Real Estate & Strategic Sourcing and is responsible for the Company’s new store/office growth as well as all aspects of managing the existing real estate portfolio. His team leads strategic planning, lease administration, store design & construction, store remodels, and facility maintenance. Bill also leads the Company’s strategic sourcing and procurement efforts across the enterprise. In this role he oversees the Company’s selection of and negotiation with key vendor partners to deliver the best dental supplies, dental equipment, labs, services, and other non-clinical supplies to the organization.

Bill left the company and spent three years as Chief Development Officer for a healthy food start-up concept based in Austin, Texas, before returning to Smile Brands in 2016. During his career, Bill has held real estate leadership positions in store development and real estate management with Jamba Juice, Washington Mutual, and The Koll Company.

In 2012, Bill was a member of the Smile Brand’s team that traveled to Thailand to provide free dental care to people in need at orphanages and community centers. In 2004, Bill won the President’s Award, given by Smile Brand’s CEO each year to the individual who best exemplifies the company’s Smiles for Everyone Mission. Bill graduated cum laude from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in history and earned a master’s in business administration degree from the UCI Paul Merage School of Business.
